When Hiyab and Wuhbto arrived in St. Louis from Ethiopia, they faced one of the most complex pediatric surgeries performed in the world. Born joined at the head, the twin sisters spent months preparing for their journey before undergoing separation surgery in February 2026.

But the surgery was only the beginning.

At Ranken Jordan, Hiyab and Wuhbto continue building strength, reaching developmental milestones, and experiencing childhood in new ways. Through therapy, play, music, outdoor adventures, and time with friends, they’re learning, growing, and discovering the world around them.
