ST. LOUIS, MO, January 27, 2025 — Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital is proud to announce the appointment of Kim Buie as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Buie brings an exceptional breadth of experience and a deep commitment to serving the community for this vital leadership role.
A seasoned financial executive with more than 25 years of experience, Buie has dedicated her career to driving financial excellence in both corporate and nonprofit sectors.
She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from James Madison University, graduating Cum Laude, and later completed her Executive MBA at Washington University in St. Louis’s prestigious Olin School of Business.
Buie began her career with Anheuser-Busch InBev, where she spent 20 years honing her expertise in financial strategy and operations. Following her time in the corporate sector, she transitioned to nonprofit leadership, serving as Chief Financial Officer for Youth in Need for five years.
Kim shifted to the nonprofit sector after reflecting on her purpose. Through conversations with mentors and friends, she kept coming across the concept of having “your work as your passion.” This ethos brought her to Ranken Jordan.
“A friend of mine encouraged me to explore opportunities with Ranken Jordan, and as I did, I realized just how much this place resonated with not only my skill set, but my purpose and heart,” Buie said. “Ranken Jordan’s mission resonates so impactfully for me because of the emphasis put on the healing power of play, which is what every child should have the opportunity to do.”
As CFO, Buie will oversee the hospital’s financial operations, ensuring sustainable growth and financial stewardship while supporting the innovative programs and services that define Ranken Jordan.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kim to our team,” said Shawn Dryden, CEO of Ranken Jordan. “Her impressive career, dedication to service and passion for making a difference in the lives of others make her the perfect fit for Ranken Jordan as we continue to grow and enhance our care for children and families.”
Buie, a resident of University City, is deeply committed to community engagement. She is actively involved with the Dana Brown Charitable Trust and Refresh Community Church (formerly The Journey Hanley Road). She is also a proud member-at-large of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Buie also received the YWCA Certificate of Leadership, issued by the YWCA Metro St. Louis in 2015.
