Barb Champion, CPNP, WOCNCB
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Barb Champion, CPNP, WOCNCB, a pediatric nurse practitioner at Ranken Jordan, brings nearly 40 years of intensive experience to the children she cares for at Ranken Jordan. Her goal is to give parents confidence in their child’s care once they go home.
Much of Barb’s career has been spent caring for children with complex medical needs. When she worked in the pediatric intensive care unit at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, she completed special certification in nephrology (kidney). She became the renal coordinator responsible for opening Cardinal Glennon’s first hemodialysis unit. There, she cared for dialysis patients as well as kidney transplant patients.
When Barb came to Ranken Jordan in 2010 as a pediatric nurse practitioner, she completed a course working towards certification in wound, ostomy and continence, which has allowed her to apply her wealth of knowledge to benefit children. She is board certified in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB).
To further enhance her patient care at Ranken Jordan, Barb is also a pediatric nurse practitioner for the pediatric plastic surgery clinic and the pediatric general surgery department at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
Barb received both her bachelor’s of science in nursing and her master’s of science in nursing degrees from University of Missouri-St. Louis.
