Duha Al-Zubeidi, MD, is the director of infection control and prevention at Ranken Jordan. In her role, she leads efforts to educate and train team members on best practices in preventing infection to keep children safe.

 

She is also the director of the hospital’s antimicrobial stewardship program, which promotes appropriate use of antibiotics to improve patient care, reduce antibiotic resistance and decrease spread of infections.

 

In addition to her role at Ranken Jordan, Dr. Al-Zubeidi is a hospitalist at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Previously, she was a staff pediatrician in infectious diseases at Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics in Kansas City.

 

She received her medical degree at the University of Jordan School of Medicine, where she also completed an internship. In addition, she was a pediatric intern at Texas Tech University before pediatric residency at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

 

At Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Dr. Al-Zubeidi completed a Pediatric Infectious Disease fellowship and received her master’s of science and clinical investigation (MSCI) certificate.

 

With a focus on infection control and prevention and outbreak investigation, Dr. Al-Zubeidi has served on numerous committees at the hospital, state and national levels, including the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Infectious Diseases and Section on Epidemiology. Most recently, she served on the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) Outbreak Response Training Program Expert Guidance Panel in collaboration with the national Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

 

Her research and work has been published in prestigious professional journals and books. She also has presented numerous times at professional conferences and lectures.

 

In addition, Dr. Al-Zubeidi has participated in curriculum development and training for medical faculty and residents around the country.
